Our industry is changing, and so must we. As definitions of employment and community inclusion change we strive to be at the forefront of service. Like a storm, we are disrupting our industry with innovative new programs like our Cultural Arts Center and a dynamic new partnership with The Fedcap Group.
Our Annual Dinner & Awards Celebration, held on Tuesday, October 23 at The Waterford at Springfield, was a great success. What a wonderful evening for the MVLE family! There was tremendous energy and excitement in the room, as people from across our community turned out to celebrate the accomplishments of the individuals we serve, and recognize our donors, business partners, sponsors and friends.
The evening began on a high note with our MVLE performance team joined by local actors for a dynamic song and dance performance. I’m so proud of our performers. They inspire me every time with their message–This is Me! I will show you what I can do!
The presentation of the President’s Award to four remarkable individuals—Edwin Arrington, David Grobe, Jeremy Haynes and Glenda Meade—was the emotional heart of the evening. People cheered, and tears were shed. I won’t soon forget the joy, pride and sense of accomplishment Edward, David, Jeremy and Glenda shared in those moments. This is what MVLE is all about.

We were thrilled that colleagues from our parent company—The Fedcap Group—supported our program and were able to attend and add to the energy of the event. We were also pleased to welcome Delegate Eileen Filler-Corn, who since 2010 has served in the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 41st District in Fairfax Count. Delegate Filler-Corn has worked tirelessly across party lines to make a difference in the lives of all Virginians.
